Unpleasant odours can only rarely be considered as harmful, but they do, in any case, generate discomfort that conditions the behaviour of people to the extent that the Regions, the Directorial Decree issued by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and article 272-bis of Italian Legislative Decree152/06 have rendered the theme a priority in the process of obtaining authorisations for systems and activities. 

Our experts provide consultancy for systems, businesses and related local authorities to identify the effective presence of sources of odour, objectively determining the odour produced and the impact of the odour generated in the area, drawing on a range of tools such as odour impact studies through dispersion simulations, odour field inspections pursuant to UNI EN 16841-1.2:2017, and sensory/instrumental analysis via the application of an I.O.M.S. (Instrumental Odour Monitoring System).
