Material analysis
The qualitative and quantitative characterisation of the chemical composition of materials such as concretes, plasters, cements, foundry slag, ferroalloys and refractories is fundamental in guaranteeing their safety. To this end, in addition to petrographic and microstratigraphic analysis, analytical techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) are used to identify the elements present and their proportion, helping to assess resistance, durability and other characteristics crucial for the use of these materials in a range of applications.
