Failure analysis

Failure analysis is the analysis of mechanical and structural components that have suffered unexpected failure or deterioration. Analysis and testing are carried out to determine the cause of the failure. The aim is to understand the mechanisms that led to failure in order to make improvements to design, to materials or to production processes so as to prevent similar problems in the future.
